Introduction to Knitting

Are you interested in learning how to knit? If the answer is yes, then this is the class for you! Join us for a two week, hands-on, class to learn the basics of knitting.  You will learn how to cast on, the knit stitch, the purl stitch, and how to bind off.  This class was take place over two Saturdays.  You will be taught how to knit a basic cowl to keep you warm and cozy this fall.

MATERIALS NEEDED: Yarn - 200 yards of worsted weight yarn

Needles - US8 

MAXIMUM CLASS SIZE: 7 students

DURATION: 2 two-hour sessions

SCHEDULE: Saturday, October 5 and Saturday, October 12

Introduction to Crochet

Interested in learning how to crochet? Join instructor, Lyndon Mason, in this two week course and learn how! You will learn how to read a crochet pattern, create a foundation chain, single crochet, half double crochet, fasten off, and securely weave in ends.  You will create a dishcloth using a basic shell stitch, which can be adjusted to make any size item from a scarf to an afgan.

INSTRUCTOR: Lyndon Mason

COST: $30.00 - Does not include supplies

MATERIALS NEEDED: Yarn - 85 yards of cotton yarn (worsted weight) for the dishcloth, it is recommended to purchase extra yarn for learning and practice.

Hook -  Size H (5.0mm)

MAXIMUM CLASS SIZE: 7 students

DURATION: 2 two-hour sessions

SCHEDULE: Saturday, October 26 and Saturday, November 2

10:30am - 12:30pm

All yarn for classes must be purchased at Yarn Hollow.  If you already have needles/hooks, that is okay.  However, if you do not, it is appreciated if you purchase them at Yarn Hollow.
